Press Release: Arrest for Endangering the Welfare of a Minor

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Police Officers Tim Kolodziej, Glennis Polanco, Sergeant Bryan Morgan and Detectives Greg Martone and Jesse Orbach
ACCUSED: Humu Koroma 33-year-old-Female from Neptune, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On March 23rd, 2018 at approximately 5:35 pm police responded to the Burlington Coat Factory for a report of a small child wandering around the parking lot. Police arrived, canvassed the parking lot and located a vehicle with the door slightly ajar. The vehicle registration was checked and that name was broadcasted within Burlington Coat Factory and the vehicle owner was located.
Further investigation revealed that child’s mother later identified as Humu Koroma left her child unattended in the vehicle because the child had fallen asleep and Koroma needed to shop. Based on the facts, Koroma was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. She was processed and released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and would be involved with a follow up investigation.
