On March 24, 2018, at 12:36 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a possible impaired driver on State Road 165 near Keneipp Road near Owensville. Upon locating the vehicle, a Blue 2015 Dodge Dart officers observed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. At that point a traffic stop was conducted and officers discovered that the vehicle had been involved in an accident. Sergeant Bryan Small began a roadside investigation which resulted in the driver 45 year old Donald Barnett of Collinsville, Illinois being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Barnett was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Dealing in Methamphetamines, and Dealing in Marijuana. He remains in custody on a $2,500 bond.

Assisting Sergeant Small in his investigation was Officer Jason Wright of the Owensville Police Department.
