SUSPECT(S): Michael Isaiah Geant, 24 years old from Needles, California

VICTIM(S): State of California

SUMMARY: In the morning hours of Friday, March 23, 2018, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department were at the Desert Mirage Motel on Needles Hwy to speak with an unrelated subject about his probation conditions. While standing in the hallway of the motel, Deputy Nicholas Yates recognized Michael Geant from a Mohave County Sheriff's Department wanted person flyer, as he stepped out from an adjoining hotel room.

When Deputy Yates asked to speak with Geant, he ran from the motel across Needles Hwy. Deputy Yates chased Geant as he tried to hide among some trees and bushes. Yates was able to take Geant into custody without incident near the corner of R Street and Needles Hwy.

Geant was arrested and booked at the Colorado River Station's Needles Jail for resisting arrest. He was issued a notice to appear for that violation. A records check of Geant revealed an outstanding warrant for Geant’s arrest out of San Bernardino County. His bail was set at $50,000. The records check also revealed an outstanding "No Bail" fugitive warrant, for a violation of probation out of the Mohave County Sheriff's Department.
