Traffic stop leads to narcotics and weapons arrests.

On Thursday night a two officer patrol unit was patrolling the area of E. Travis Blvd. and Eisenhower Street when the officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop for a vehicle code violation.   The officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle and while speaking with them they noticed what appeared to be illegal narcotics in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.  The officers examined the item and determined the substance was illegally possessed prescription narcotics.  The officers detained the subjects inside of the vehicle and conducted a more thorough search of the vehicle.  While searching the vehicle the officers located two handguns with high capacity magazines, ammunition, and over one pound of marijuana divided into over 150 containers, individually packaged for sale.

While the recreational use of marijuana in California was legalized by Proposition 64, the possession of marijuana under certain circumstances is still a violation of California Law.

Jordan Castor, a 19 year old male of Rocklin and Joe Allison, an 18 year old male of Woodland were arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on multiple narcotics and firearms related charges.  The third occupant of the vehicle, Jose Perez, a 32 year old male of Fairfield was arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant.

The Fairfield Police Department would like to remind everyone that the combination of marijuana or narcotics with firearms is never a good combination.  We would also like to remind everyone that consuming any marijuana or narcotics and operating a motor vehicle is the same as consuming alcohol and driving.
