Advisory

Man attempts to get teen girl into car while walking home from school.

A man attempted to lure a teenage girl into his car while walking home from school yesterday. At about 2:00 PM a 13-year-old girl was walking home from school in the Larkfield area when a man made a u-turn and pulled up next to her in his silver 90’s Pontiac, possibly a Grand Prix. He made comments to her about being pretty and asked for her phone number and if she needed a ride. She refused and kept walking but he kept trying to engage in conversation. A nearby AT&T Technician witnessed the event and the suspect left when he saw the worker staring at him. The man is described as Caucasian, in his 30’s to 40’s, with short brown hair.

Sheriff’s deputies, along with school administration from the Mark West Union School District are coordinating efforts on notifying parents and locating the suspect. Deputies will be providing extra patrols at local schools. If someone matching this description is seen, the public is asked to call Sheriff’s Dispatch at 707-565-2121.
