*Update* #LASD Arson/Explosives Detail Responds to Fire Investigation, 16300 blk S. Essey Ave, Compton

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators have learned that a female juvenile who was located inside a burning residence in the 16300 block of South Essey Avenue in Compton on Monday, March 19, 2018 and transported in critical condition to a local hospital has died.

The juvenile was pronounced today, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:29 A.M.

Arson/Explosives Detail detectives continue to investigate the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined.

One other female adult also located inside the burning residence remains in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

LOCATION:  16300 block of South Essey Avenue, Compton
 
Unit:  Arson/Explosives Detail
 
At 12:43 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station and Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD) responded to the 16300 block of South Essey Avenue regarding a structure fire.
 
Deputies contained the area while fire personnel extinguished the fire. 
 
Two females and two dogs were located on the property.  The two females were transported to local hospitals and listed in critical condition.  Animal Care and Control personnel took control of the dogs, which were determined to be deceased.
 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Arson/Explosives Detail responded to the location to conduct the investigation.  There is no additional information available at this time.
