Full Notification

At approximately 3:00PM today, Corcoran PD was notified of a social media post from a Corcoran High School student of a possible shooting that would occur tomorrow. Officers were already investigating (reported from an separate source) what was reported as a person overheard talking about a “school shooting.” Officers quickly located and removed the student from campus. It was learned that the threat was directed towards Beaumont High School. Corcoran Police Department is actively investigating this incident and working with Beaumont PD. The student is in custody, the family is cooperative and officers have determined there is no access to weapons in the students home. Although the student reported that the social media post was a joke, these types of incidents will be taken very serious and investigated fully. CHS admin and CPD officers responded very quickly to this incident and there is no indications of any threat to Corcoran High School.
