OSBI Investigates Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Mannford
This afternoon the Mannford Police Department requested OSBI investigate a fatal officer-involved shooting. OSBI special agents learned that police were called to the area by a woman concerned about a suspicious man. When officers arrived, they made contact with Mark Allen Lunn (d.o.b. 8/10/1970) who refused to comply with their orders. Lunn then started walking from the scene pulling off his clothing. At approximately 100 yards from where the officers first met Lunn, he pulled off his shirt, pulled a large knife from his pants, and turned toward the officers. Officers told him to drop the knife several times. Instead, Lunn moved toward the officers. Both officers fired their weapon at Lunn. Lunn died at the scene. OSBI agents are interviewing people in the area who witnessed the incident. Once the investigation is complete, agents will compile a comprehensive report and deliver it to the district attorney. The DA will determine if the shooting was justified.
