As the snowfall intensifies please continue to check Watchung Borough's website at watchungnj.gov for the latest information and updates.  If deemed necessary brief & vital information may be broadcasted on 1610 AM.  Snow is beginning to accumulate on roadways and Governor Murphy has declared a state of emergency as of 7:00 PM last night meaning that only essential personnel should be out and about.  If wet and heavy snow should bring down any trees and powerlines, the utility companies must address the wires before any trees can be cleared.  ASSUME ALL POWERLINES ARE LIVE!  Do not try to touch or move them yourself.  Report them to the police department or the utility companies.  Please remove all vehicles from the roadway to assist with snow clearing.
