Citizens of Middleton, Mayor Brar, Elected Officials, Police Commission Members, Public Safety Committee Members, City Administrator Mike Davis, fellow Department Heads and Police Department Staff,

On behalf of the men and women of the Middleton Police Department, I present you with our 2017 Annual Report.

The City of Middleton continues to have a low crime rate in general and specifically a low violent crime rate. The Middleton Police Department received re-accreditation in early 2017 from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG), showing our compliance with 242 international/national best police practice standards with 602 separate dimensions.

The Police Department outfitted all patrol officers with Body Worn Cameras in early 2017, complementing our squad video cameras which have been in place for several years. The cameras are activated during any citizen contact, which is consistent with our Mission of being accountable, open and transparent in our dealings with the public.

The relationship with our community is one of our highest priorities and the department’s community policing philosophy continues to drive our day to day policing strategy and the way that we interact with our community. We continue to have a positive working relationship with the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District as the safety of our students, staff and visitors at our schools is a priority.

I would like to thank our community for the support we continue to receive.
