The Fairfield Police Department’s Family Violence Unit investigates incidences involving domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assaults, human trafficking and child exploitation. Nominations were accepted throughout the state to recognize an agency for “Outstanding” work. Based on a number of investigations yielding successful arrests and prosecutions, partnerships with non-profit organizations, community outreach and victim assistance practices, the Fairfield Police Department’s Family Violence Unit was awarded team of the year for 2017 by the California Sexual Assault Investigators Association. While this award was presented to the Family Violence Unit, it would not have been possible without the support of the police administration, City of Fairfield, and the community as a whole.
