State of Emergency/Winter Storm Advisory in effect from 6am Wednesday until 6am Thursday

As of 8:00 pm, NJ Governor Murphy issued a State of Emergency for the expected winter storm.  The warning is active from 6:00am Wednesday until 6:00am Thursday.

Snow, rain and mixed precipitation expected to start tonight, with 6" to 14" of snow forecast for northern counties.1-2" per hour possible. 

Travel will be very difficult to impossible, especially during evening commute.  Visibility will be hampered by heavy snow developing in the morning throughout the afternoon. Wind gusts up to 35 mph expected which can bring down tree limbs and utility wires.

Residents are urged to avoid travel if possible.  Report downed wires or trees to the West New York Police Department at (201) 295-5000.  

Due to the storm, parking will be prohibited on the West side of Bergenline from Wednesday at 4:00pm - Thursday at 1:00pm from 49th Street to 67th Street and 60th Street from Bergenline to Palisade Avenue (North and South sides).  

Residents are reminded not to shovel snow into the streets.
