The precipitation is expected to mix with and change to wet snow tonight, with some light accumulations likely. Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s in the Advisory Area later tonight, and only slowly rise into the mid 30s by late Wednesday morning. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 11 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Occasional wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to locally 2 inches possible, mainly north of Interstate 85 and 40, from the Triad to Henderson.
* WHERE...The Triad and portions of north-central North Carolina.
* WHEN...From 1 AM to 11 AM EDT Wednesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain and a little sleet will change to wet snow between 200 and 500 AM, with occasional wet snow expected between 500 AM and late morning. Plan on potential slushy and slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. Temperatures will fall to between 31 and 32 from the Triad east to Hillsborough, Durham, and Henderson, north into southern Virginia by daybreak. Temperatures will only slowly rise into the mid 30s by late Wednesday morning.
