UPDATED ADVISORY: INDIANAPOLIS - Homicide Investigators with the IMPD respond to a homicide on Singleton Street.
UPDATED ADVISORY: INDIANAPOLIS – Today, IMPD Homicide Detectives arrested 22 year-old Demontae Adams for his involvement in the homicide which occurred on the 1800 block of Singleton Street early this morning.The victim has been identified as 30 year-old Dustin Denney.
The victim’s family would like privacy as they process the loss of their family member.
The Marion County Coroner typically releases victim information. However, the arrest of the suspect in this case warranted releasing the victim’s information.

INCIDENT LOCATION: 1860 Singleton Street (SE)
COMMUNITY MESSAGE: INDIANAPOLIS –On March 17, 2018, at 1:20 a.m., Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to 1800 block of Singleton Street on a report of a person shot. Officers located an unresponsive male with apparent gunshot wound inside the residence.
Medics arrived a short time later and pronounced the victim decease. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. A motive is unknown at this time. IMPD Homicide investigators began canvassing the area for witnesses or anyone with additional information that will aid investigators in solving this case.
The Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist with identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The name of the victim can be obtained from the MCCO after proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
