Police Arrest Newark Man for School Burglary 
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Steve S. Allen, 43, of Newark, in connection with a school burglary that occurred today.
At approximately 3:25 a.m., police responding to citizen reports of a burglar inside the Belmont Runyon Street School, located at 68 West Runyon Street on a burglary call. Police observed Allen inside the school. He attempted to escape by climbing through a window after becoming aware of police presence. Allen was immediately apprehended and arrested without incident.
Allen is charged with Burglary, Theft, Eluding and Contempt of Court.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
