Another "knock knock" burglar knocks on the wrong door!

On March 13, 2018, the Simi Valley Police Departments Property Crimes Detective Unit in conjuction with the Ventura County Auto Theft Taskforce unit conducted a surveillance and arrest of a known prolific burglar. Marquis Olajuwon Lee (21 yrs) of Northridge, Ca was arrested as a result of a continuing investigation into a “Floccing” crew that is operating in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. “Floccing” is when a criminal element, usually associated with a criminal street gang, “flocks” to an affluent neighborhood with the specific intent of breaking into homes while the occupants are away at work or school. Evidence collected during this investigation implicated Marquis Lee in a residential burglary that occurred in the city of Moorpark in December of 2017. Lee has an extensive criminal history and is on active parole for burglary.

Although we are fortunate to live in a safe community, we are not immune to criminals operating within our city. Community involvement and proactive police work can drastically reduce the negative impact these criminals have on our city. If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhoods, even during the middle of the day, please report it to the police department as soon as possible. (805) 583-6950
