Pott Co Jury Convicts Woman for Possession of Child Pornography

Pottawatomie County -- this afternoon a Pottawatomie County jury convicted a woman of 10 counts of possession of child pornography. The jury recommended 10 years on nine counts and 20 years on the one count for Kimberly Ann Smith-Gentile (d.o.b. 4/30/1980). The case stems from an OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that originated in Kansas in 2016. There, Jaymes Dean was charged with sexual abuse of more than a dozen children. A Kansas jury sentenced him to four life sentences plus 129 years. Smith-Gentile was charged because she knowingly possessed the phones with the illegal images taken by Dean for six months without notifying authorities. A judge will formally sentence her May 31, 2018.
