The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

March 13th

0620 Hours: Officer Allum contacted and arrested a 49-year-old Newark male for driving on a suspended license, false vehicle registration, no proof of insurance and driving without an ignition interlock device. The suspect was issued a citation and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

1325 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes seized the license plates off a vehicle on the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard for expired registration. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

1435 Hours: Officer Palacio investigated an auto burglary on the 34800 block of Newark Boulevard. The loss is unknown.

2016 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated an auto burglary at BJ’s Restaurant, 5699 Mowry Avenue. The loss is luggage.
