C. Houstachenko arrested for attempted murder after stabbing a man during a fight

SUSPECT: Christopher Houstachenko, 35-year old Victorville transient
VICTIM: Confidential male adult, Transient
SUMMARY:
On March 13, 2018, Deputy T. Broadway and Deputy A. Pennington, from the Victorville Police Department, were flagged down by a citizen who witnessed two men fighting in the nearby desert area.
The two men were near the intersection of Anacapa Road and Amargosa Road. Upon making contact with the victim, deputies learned he had been stabbed during the fight. The suspect, Christopher Houstachenko, was attempting to leave the area. Deputies chased the suspect on foot for a short distance before he was detained and taken into custody without further incident. It was unclear as to what led to the fight.
The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder.
