There is patchy ice on roadways so please use caution and use a longer than normal stopping distance. I know tensions can run high when you didn't have that first cup of coffee but instead of getting upset, smile and wave!  :-)

Here is the usual info on Clean up and have a safe weekend!
Chief Garofalo

West Windsor Police are reminding all residents to please shovel. Lets face it, you don't want to be that person with your sidewalk covered and everyone else did theirs. Please remove all snow from sidewalks . For the safety of your neighbors and their children and dogs, please have it removed by a professional or a well intentioned teen who needs xbox money. At some point we will have to devote manpower to sending warnings and tickets to those who do not. If you have an elderly neighbor please help them and dig out for them.

Also be sure to clear an area around your fire hydrants, This will only take 10 minutes more and you are already out there!

Car roofs covered in snow become dangerous to all those around you. Please have the snow removed before it becomes flying shards of ice.

Lastly, It is a crime to leave pets outside without proper shelter for more than 30 minutes when the temperature is above 90 degrees or below 32. Frozen poop is not appealing so please bag it if you're walking your pet. Please call HQ immediately if you see pets left outside for extended periods.

Thank you all again for working together to make this storms impact on emergency services and the DPW as minimal as possible.

I have attached the local ordinance below for those who need it.

§ 152-18
Snow and ice removal or treatment required.
The owner, occupant or tenant of the premises abutting or bordering upon any street in the township shall remove all snow and ice from the abutting sidewalks of such streets or, in the event of ice which may be so frozen as to make removal impracticable, shall cause the same to be thoroughly covered with sand, ashes or rock salt within 24 hours after the same shall cease to fall or be formed thereon.

§ 152-19
Depositing snow or ice upon streets or sidewalks.
No person, owner, tenant or occupant of any premises abutting on any street or sidewalk shall throw, place or deposit any snow or ice accumulated on private property into or upon any such street or sidewalk in the township.
