The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office during the last few months has taken several reports of people posing as utility workers in order to gain entry into your home for the purposes of larceny, home invasion, robbery and other criminal acts.  The Sheriff's Office urges residents to check employee identifications of utility workers.  When in doubt, contact the utility company in question by phone to confirm the employee is in deed who he/she claims to be. Notify law enforcement if you suspect criminal activity perpetrated by a phoney utility worker as soon as possible and DO NOT allow anyone you suspect is a fake utility worker into your residence.
