San Leandro Police arrest three subjects in violent street robbery

Three men were arrest on Monday hours after they committed a violent street robbery in San Leandro's Washington Manor. The robbery occurred around 4:15 pm on Monday, March 3rd as the female victim in the case was walking home after making a bank transaction.

The three suspects approached the victim as she walked and violently threw her to the ground. As a result, the suspects stole the victim's cell phone and backpack. The victim sustained moderate injuries from the attack, and numerous residents came to her aid after a call for help. One of the residents was a witness to the crime.

With information provided to police by the witness, detectives were able to locate the suspect vehicle within hours of the crime. Three suspects; 20 yr-old Anthony Davis, 19 yr-old Ayinde Jones, and 20 yr-old Jordan Corbino were all arrested.

The stolen items from the robbery which included cash, a cell phone, and backpack were all located and recovered. "This was a great effort by many to solve this case so quickly and most importantly return all of the loss to the victim," said San Leandro Police Lieutenant Isaac Benabou. "Our detective's ability to locate and arrest the suspects began with the help of witnesses who provided solid leads."

Yesterday, the Alameda County District Attorney reviewed the case against the three men. Both Corbino and Davis were charged each with one count of robbery, section 211 of the California Penal Code, however, Jones was not charged in the case and was released from custody.

Both Corbino and Davis remain in custody at Alameda County's Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
