Celebrating International Women's Day

Last year, I brought together our professional women both sworn and non-sworn for a photo shoot. They were brought together to celebrate and remind everyone of the accomplishments of women around the world.
These amazing women are all true professionals and most have dedicated a lifetime to their career and to the service of the public. Our new officers begin their journey representing the next generation of women taking a commanding role in the world.
Today we celebrate professional women and shine as an example to other countries that women can do anything they set their minds to and that they can rise above the oppression they face each day.

About International Women's Day When: 8 March
Where: Everywhere
What: International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.
Why: Suffragettes campaigned for women's right to vote. The word 'Suffragette' is derived from the word "suffrage" meaning the right to vote. International Women's Day honors the work of the Suffragettes, celebrates women's success, and reminds of inequities still to be redressed.
