10pm Storm Update: 3500 power outages, trees & wires down. Schools closed tomorrow, township delayed opening at 10am
Township is working to recover from today’s storm. Plowing continues overnight. Trees and wires are down throughout the township. Residents should stay off the roads. Some traffic signals are still out of power.
JCPL reports 3,500 customers without power at this hour. Township officials have been in contact with JCPL Management who estimate that power will be restored tomorrow. Currently, power crews are working in seven areas to secure the downed wires, repairs will follow as soon as it is safe to do so.
Schools and all activities are cancelled for Thursday. Township offices will be operating on a delayed opening at 10am.
Please use 911 for emergencies only. Police are inundated with calls and requesting residents to STAY OFF THE ROADWAYS so emergency vehicles, public works and utilities can safely respond.
