March 7 2018 14:15 update
The height of the snow storm is upon us now. Although there is no official travel ban, the roads are not in good shape, and you should limit your travel to true emergencies only.
The West Amwell Police Department is on the road using 4 wheel drive Police vehicles. There have already been some accidents reported.
The West Amwell DPW is plowing Township Roads.
The Lambertville- New Hope Ambulance & Rescue Squad is manned with crews and 4 wheel drive units.
The Amwell Valley Ambulance Corps is also staffed, with a 4 wheel drive ambulance.
The West Amwell Fire Company has a crew in the fire house, and will be responding along with the EMS organizations to any medical emergencies in West Amwell.
The snow is a very heavy snow, unfortunately this means trees coming down in wires, and the possibility of more power outages. We are advised that the JCP&L crews will work in the snow, but will not put bucket trucks in the air if the wind speed exceeds 30 MPH.
We are still looking at an accumulation of 8-12 inches, with the bulk of the storm finishing by 7 PM.
I will post more, as necessary
