Advisory

Please avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution with today’s snow/wind conditions.

The New Castle Police would like to urge our residents to exercise caution with today’s snow/wind conditions.

Please avoid all unnecessary travel.  This will allow vehicles that are already on the road to safely reach their destinations before the heavy snow begins, keeps the roads open for emergency responders and allows snow removal equipment to begin to clear roads.

In the event of life or property threatening emergencies, dial 911.

To report downed wires, road blockages and non-life-threatening issues, contact (914) 238-4422.  Treat all downed wires as if they are live. Be mindful that downed wires can be hidden from view by tree limbs, leaves or snow.

Customers can report downed power lines, outages and check service restoration status at www.conEd.com or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633).  When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power.  Calling the Police to report a power loss only serves to tie up emergency telephone lines and you will be referred to contact Con Ed directly.

We also want to inform you that there are one (1) “cut and clear crew” and two (2) “restoration crews” currently working in Town that were assigned by Con Edison.
