Advisory

Roads Closed in Knowlton Township

8,550 residents in Warren County remain without power tonight, 513 in Knowlton Township. A nor'easter is expected to bring heavy winds and 10 or more inches of snow starting this evening. JCP&L stressed in a call with municipal officials today that if a fresh wave of power outages occur, residents who have been without power for days will remain the priority. Crews from Ohio and Indiana who have been on hand to assist with repairs will remain in our area for the coming days.

Knowlton Township has declared a state of emergency effective March 6, 2018 at 2000 hours due to the impending snow storm, lack of electricity, and wires impeding Township roads. The State, Warren County, Blairstown, Hardwick, and many surrounding towns have also declared emergencies.

All non-emergency personnel should stay off Township roads until they are plowed and clear.

Portions of the following Knowlton roads are closed due to low hanging wires and cannot be plowed: Hemlock, Polkville, Wishing Well (Blairstown end), and the intersection of Station Road/Polkville/ Vail roads. Residents should plan alternate routes.

Please DO NOT move the cones or barrels cordoning off these roads. The safety of plow drivers is at risk-- they need the cones to avoid entanglement in loose wires.

North Warren and Knowlton Elementary schools are closed tomorrow. Hours for the warming station at North Warren High School will be announced tomorrow.
