Here is the Castaic/ Val Verde Public Safety and Crime Information Report for the Week of February 19, 2018 - February 25, 2018:

2/22/18 
Theft - 27000 block of Lake Hughes Road
Deputies conducting an investigation on a traffic stop arrested two individuals for theft of mail. Recovered from inside the suspect’s vehicle were numerous illegally modified “air soft” guns, and mail belonging to several local residents. Both suspects were booked for multiple charges. 

2/23/18 
Burglary - Castaic Road x Parker Road
Deputies conducting an investigation on a traffic stop discovered multiple items in the suspect vehicle which appeared to be stolen. Based on identifying markings on the items, a victim was identified and contacted. The victim informed the deputies that his garage was burglarized. The items were returned to the victim, and the suspect was arrested. 

2/25/18 
Grand Theft- 32000 block of The Old Road
The victim reported $4,000 worth of stereo equipment stolen off of his boat while parked in storage. The crime occurred sometime between January - March of 2018. 

Remember, in any community, the citizens are the first set of eyes and ears for 1st responders. It is the community who knows what “does” and “doesn’t” look right. It is you, the local citizens, who can tell who “does” and “doesn’t” belong in the area.
