Investigators arrest Demetrius Auston of Los Angeles for pimping and pandering

SUSPECT(S): Demetrius Auston, 25-year-old male from Los Angeles
VICTIM(S): Confidential female adult
SUMMARY:
On 3/1/18, members of the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force began surveillance in an attempt to locate victims and suspects involved in the commercialized sex trade in the City of San Bernardino. Members of the Task Force observed Demetrius Auston, a 25-year-old male from Los Angles, driving erratically and attempting to talk to suspected prostitutes. A traffic stop was conducted, and through initial investigation it was determined Auston was Pimping and Pandering a female victim. He was transported to the San Bernardino Police Department for additional interview. At the conclusion of the interview, Auston became combative, damaging city property and assaulted a peace officer. Auston bit the officer’s hand, causing the skin to break. The officer was treated and released for his injury at a local medical facility.
The original victim of Auston's Pimping and Pandering arrest was rescued, offered services and released from the scene.
Auston was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for multiple felonies including, Pimping, Pandering, Assault on a Peace Officer, and Felony Vandalism. Bail is set in the amount of $100,000.
This investigation is ongoing.
