Deputy Aaron Vallini of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged John Henry McMurray, 70, of Marion, with assault with a deadly weapon.
Shortly after 3 a.m. on Friday, March 2, Vallini responded to 891 Greasy Creek Road in Marion in reference to a domestic dispute with a firearm involved.
Perry Conner, of Greasy Creek Road, said he and his wife had gotten into an argument. McMurray, his wife’s father, came into the room, began fighting with Conner and, at some point, pulled out a 9mm handgun and fired it.
The bullet went into the wall. No one was injured.
