On Friday, March 2, 2018, at approximately 9:37 pm, the Manhattan Beach Police Department received a call of a sexual assault.  Three female teenagers were walking through the Von’s Grocery Store parking lot at 410 Manhattan Beach Blvd. when they observed a male suspect masturbating in his car.  The suspect called out to the girls but they ignored him and continued walking into the store.  The girls stayed in the store until they thought the suspect had left the area.  The girls then continued walking south on Valley Drive from the grocery store.

As the girls approached the area of 3rd Street and Valley Drive, the same suspect came up from behind them, shoved one of the girls to the ground and sexually assaulted her.  One of the other girls began punching the suspect until he released her.  All three girls ran home and called 911.

The suspect is described as Middle-Eastern or Asian male, dark skin, 20-30 years old, wearing a red and black flannel shirt.  The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark colored 4-door sedan with an Uber sticker on the front passenger side window.

At approximately 9:50 pm, the Manhattan Beach Police Department received a call of a male exposing his genitals in the area of 35th and Flournoy.  The suspect’s description is not known but the witness described the suspect vehicle as a 4-door sedan with an Uber sticker in the window.  We believe this is possibly the same suspect in the sexual assault.
We are asking residents in both of these areas to check their home video surveillance to see if they captured the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle on video.  If so or if you have any further information in regard to this sexual assault, please call Detective Aleina Smith at (310) 802-5133.
