On Saturday, March 03, 2018, at approximately 12:43 AM, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a solo motor vehicle collision on the 2000 Block of East Avenue P in the unincorporated area of Palmdale.
 
The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate a male adult was driving a 2017 white Nissan Versa eastbound on Avenue P.  Evidence at the scene indicate the vehicle drifted across into oncoming lanes for unknown reason.  The vehicle then drove onto the north dirt shoulder and collided with a wood electrical pole causing major damage to the vehicle.  The driver was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The female adult passenger was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with minor injuries and was later discharged.
 
Avenue P was closed between 20^th St. East and 25^th St. East between 12:45 AM and 4:30 AM while this incident was being investigated.
