JCP&L held a conference call to update officials on the outage caused by winter storm Riley. There are currently 132,000 without power in northern NJ. Power will be out in Knowlton for "several days." Estimates being given out by their automated system giving quick restoration times are incorrect. JCP&L will give a more exact estimate once damage assessments are complete. Right now crews are prioritizing making conditions safe, then restoration. Priority will be given to critical facilities, which includes gas stations on evacuation routes, F&R
facilities. Downed wires and road closures will be tended to first.

All downed wires should be called in to 888-544-4877 and residents should be assigned an order number for tracking purposes.

The Knowlton Firehouse is available from 4:00 to 10:00 pm tonight as a warming station and has bottled water and bathroom facilities.Both Quik Check on Rte 519 and BP gas station in Knowlton on Rte 46 will have gasoline deliveries within the hour and are operating. More information will be sent as it becomes available.
