Driver on collides with a tree after fleeing from deputy trying to conduct a traffic stop

SUSPECT(S): Andrew Redmond, 35 years old, resident of San Bernardino
Christina Alva, 35 years old, resident of Rialto
SUMMARY:
On Friday, March 2, 2018, at 1:26 a.m., Deputy Cavender initiated a traffic stop on a gray GMC Yukon for vehicle code violations. The driver, later identified as Andrew Redmond, accelerated and a vehicle pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Andrews drove on the wrong side of the road, placing nearby motorists in danger. As a result of Andrews' erratic and reckless driving, he collided with a tree in the front parking lot of Sheriff's Headquarters. Andrews then attempted to drive off when he was blocked in by pursuing deputies. Both Andrews and the female passenger, identified as Christina Alva, were arrested without further incident.
During the investigation, deputies found Andrews was currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for PC 69, Felony resisting a Police Officer. Andrews also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Larceny. Alva had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
The two were transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for violation of CVC 2800.2, Felony Evading and warrants.
