The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
March 1st
0616 Hours: Officer San Pedro responded to a suspicious circumstance call at Bridgeport Apartments, 36826 Cherry Street. During the course of his investigation, Officer San Pedro located a gray colored cash register near a tree within the apartment complex. The owner of the cash register has yet to be determined.
0757 Hours: Officer San Pedro investigated a non-injury traffic collision that occurred on Thornton Avenue near the I-880 overpass.
1301 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes recovered a 2014 Toyota Tacoma reported stolen out of San Jose on the 37200 block of Walnut Street.
1413 Hours: Officer Herbert investigated an auto burglary on the 6300 block of Jarvis Avenue. The loss is a backpack.
1423 Hours: During a probation search on the 6500 block of Normandy Drive, Officers contacted and arrested a 34-year-old Oakland female for possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 41-year-old transient male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Both suspects were booked into the Fremont Jail.
1752 Hours: Officer Horst investigated the theft of a wallet, stereo and subwoofer from an unlocked vehicle on the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue.
1854 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated the theft of an ATM card from an unlocked vehicle on the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue.
