INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: 9th St. east of Newcomb St., Highland
VICTIM: Lyric Monee Franklin, 19 years old, resident of Highland
SUMMARY:
On February 28, 2018 at 9:21 p.m., Lyric Monee Franklin was attempting to cross 9th St. from the north to the south, east of Newcomb St. As she stepped out from behind a parked vehicle, she walked into the path of an oncoming Omnitrans Bus and was struck. Franklin succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The collision is being investigated by the Region 1 Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) and any witnesses are urged to contact investigators D. Rusk or A. Ortega.
