The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
February 28th
1100 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 37-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on the 6700 block of George Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1157 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes seized the license plates off a vehicle and issued a citation for false registration on the 37500 block of Sycamore Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
1244 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes seized the license plates off a vehicle and issued a citation for false registration on the 37600 block of Sycamore Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
1424 Hours: Officers responded to a two-vehicle minor injury auto accident on the 39100 block of Cedar Boulevard. The injured parties were treated at the scene.
1455 Hours: Officer Wallace investigated a case of a fraudulent credit card being used to purchase lumber at Osborne Lumber, 8100 Enterprise Drive.
2148 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an attempted vehicle theft in the NewPark Mall parking lot.
0537 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated the theft of a Gray 2002 Toyota Camry (CA License #4VUV169) on Joaquin Murieta Avenue. The vehicle owner left it running while he delivered newspapers to the surrounding homes.
