At about 9:07 PM on February 28^th, a concerned citizen contacted the Fairfield Police Department regarding a male with a firearm in the 1700 block of N. Texas Street.   The citizen was able to work with the Fairfield Police dispatchers and provide a thorough description of the suspect as well as the suspects current location.  The citizen told dispatchers that the subject was walking in and out of businesses and had been in the parking lot waving the firearm around.  Within one minute of dispatchers broadcasting the call, two patrol officers that were nearby located the subject in the parking lot of 1744 N. Texas Street.  When the officers contacted the subject he was verbally confrontational with the officers, and questioned why he was being contacted and did not follow the officers directions.  The subject eventually complied with the officers directions and was taken into custody.   The subject was found to have a .40 caliber handgun with the serial numbers removed in his jacket pocket.  The subject was also found to be in possession of numerous small bags of suspected cocaine and numerous suspected prescription narcotics pills.  The subject, Emanuel Myles Cantrell a 27 year old male of Fairfield was booked into Solano County Jail on several felony charges.  
 
Again, without the support and assistance of concerned citizens reporting suspicious activity, these crimes may have gone undetected.   We would like to thank citizens for not only providing assistance to the police department, but for also providing important information to our dispatchers to assist us in safely bringing these types of incidents to an end.
