Saugus Public Safety and Crime Information Report
Here is the Saugus (Zone 4) Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information Report for 02/12/18 -02/18/18:
02/15/18
Vehicle Burglary - Milestone/Incline Lane
During late night hours, an alert citizen saw people breaking into a car parked on her street. The informant called the Sheriff’s station and deputies responded. After a containment was established, five suspects were arrested for burglary and grand theft auto.
02/16/18
Robbery – 28500 block of Welfleet Lane
Several suspects attacked a rideshare driver. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone during the assault. This case is being investigated by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station detectives.
02/17/18
Grand Theft (from vehicle) – 26300 block Bouquet Canyon Road
The victim parked his unlocked car at the location overnight. When he returned to the location, he saw that his MacBook and Samsung tablet were stolen from his vehicle.
There are several things you can do to reduce your chance of becoming a victim. The most common mistake victims make is not locking their car doors. This simple step would prevent most burglary crimes that are reported to our station. Another helpful tip is to remove any valuable items from your vehicle. It is common for thieves to look inside your vehicle and see if there is anything of value left in plain view. By removing these items, your vehicle becomes less attractive to thieves.
