FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                 Wednesday, February 28, 2018

ATTENTION RESIDENTS LIVING INSIDE THE MS RIVER LEVEE

Residents living or working inside the mainline MS River Levee System should be making final preparations for the protection of their property and planning to evacuate due to the rising waters of the MS River.

Residents living on North and South Lake Ferguson Roads and Hillman Logan Rd: The current river forecast shows the Upper Lake Ferguson Rd closing on Sunday March 4, 2018.  The road could become impassible sometime Saturday depending on water levels.  We are encouraging all residents to finish moving personal property from inside the levee system by Saturday.  Also, we are asking residents to take the necessary precautions to protect homes by turning off all power to your residence and turning off your Propane at the tank.  Strap or tie down your propane tank to prevent fires and damage to surrounding structures from floating propane tanks.

Delta Electric cuts power inside the levee at 55’.

Emergency response times to the Lake Ferguson area will be drastically impacted once the Upper Lake Rd goes under water.
