On Friday, February 23, 2018, at approximately 11:27 PM, Milpitas Police officers were patrolling in the 300 block of Ranch Drive and noticed a parked vehicle with the trunk left opened. When the officers approached the vehicle to inspect it, they realized there were two people inside of the car. The two occupants were identified as James Allen and Stacy Seglin. A computer check revealed Seglin is currently on searchable probation out of Santa Clara County for various offenses. During a probation search officers located drug paraphernalia in her possession and a loaded handgun in a backpack in the vehicle. Officers concluded the handgun belonged to Allen and a check on the handgun revealed it had not been legally registered.
Allen was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for carrying a concealed loaded firearm in a vehicle and for carrying an unregistered handgun in a vehicle. Seglin was cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia.
