Full Notification

At approximately 2:35 p.m. Sheriff's Office Emergency Dispatch received a call regarding an adult male gunshot victim in the area of Milledge Village Road in Burton. Deputies were dispatched and responded to the scene, where they located the gunshot victim. Deputies then secured the scene and summoned Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to respond and treat him. The wounded man is currently being transported by EMS to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Information gathered the scene leads deputies to believe that the subject(s) likely left in a vehicle following the shooting. There will be a temporary increase in law enforcement activity on Milledge Village Road and the surrounding area. There is no immediate public safety threat.
