Incidents 306 Reports 39

#019 DUI Arrest
At 11:46 a.m., Officer Kwok made contact with a motorist who was stopped on the side of the road in the area of Mission/680 north.  The trunk of the vehicle was open with several items on the ground.   A male was standing next to the driver’s side door very close to traffic and had an unsteady gait and was saluting at cars driving by.  Concerned for his safety, Officer Kwok stopped to see if he could be of assistance.  The male’s speech was slurred and the odor of alcohol could be smelled from his person.  The male admitted to having several drinks in the hours prior and that he stopped because his tire was flat due to hitting a curb several days prior.  In addition to an estimated 30 empty bottles of alcohol located in the vehicle, an open container was in the driver’s side pocket of the door.  The 48 year old adult male was arrested and booked into Santa Rita for DUI.

#018 Hit and Run Collision
At 12:18 p.m., Officer Austin investigated a hit and run non-injury collision that occurred at Paseo Padre Pkwy/Decoto Rd. The suspect driver left the scene.  The vehicle was described as a newer model Camry with extensive front end damage. The driver was described as a Hispanic male wearing dark colored clothing.

#028 Shooting into an Inhabited Dwelling
At 3:11 p.m., several officers were dispatched to a shooting at a homeless encampment near Washington and Roberts.  The 35 year old female suspect was upset at her ex-boyfriend and fired one round into his tent.  A perimeter was established and she was located in her tent near the area of Carol and Roberts.  The female suspect had removed her clothing and doused them in bleach.  She was positively identified as the suspect and arrested.  A warrant was written and during the subsequent search, a handgun was located in her tent along with ammunition and drug paraphernalia.  The intended victim was not in the tent at the time of the shooting and there were no injuries.  The suspect was arrested for shooting at an inhabited dwelling, felon in possession of a firearm and prohibition upon owning/being in possession of ammo.
