Incident: Sexual Assault/Robbery

Location: 39200 block of Fremont Hub
On Sunday morning Fremont midnight patrol officers arrested 33 year old suspect Terrell Edward Gomer, in connection with the Saturday morning sexual assault/robbery incident that occurred at the Fremont Hub.
On Saturday, February 24, 2018, the Fremont Police Dispatch Center received a call at 8:45 a.m., regarding an armed robbery and sexual assault that had just occurred at a business located in the 39200 block of Fremont Hub. Shortly before the business was scheduled to open, a suspect armed with a hand gun entered the store through an unlocked door. The armed suspect robbed two adult female employees of cash from the store registers and then sexually assaulted them at gun point. The suspect fled out the front doors in an unknown direction.
Detectives were called out and officers canvassed for witnesses and surveillance video. Detectives learned through video surveillance and witnesses that the suspect had been loitering at the Fremont Hub Shopping center since at least 4:00 a.m. While collecting evidence, a Crime Scene Investigator was able to obtain a fingerprint left behind by the suspect. Fremont’s Chief Forensic Specialist was called in to assist and a person of interest was identified. Through a photo lineup the suspect was positively identified and a Ramey Warrant was obtained for the arrest of 33 year old Terrell Edward Gomer.
On Sunday morning at approximately 2:45 a.m., a caller reported a male loitering inside the convenience store of a gas station, located in the 40500 block of Grimmer Blvd. The caller stated he had been in the store for two hours and was refusing to leave. Two midnight officers saw the call holding and noted the close similarity in description to wanted suspect Gomer. The officers self-dispatched to the call and additional patrol units responded to assist. The male was located and positively identified as Terrell Edward Gomer. At 3:01 a.m., Gomer was taken into custody on the Ramey Warrant and transported to the station for questioning by detectives. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail at approximately 6:00 a.m., on the following charges:
2 counts - CA PC 417(A)(2) – Exhibiting a Firearm
1 count - CA PC 211 – 1st degree Robbery
1 count - CA PC 459 – 1st degree Burglary
2 counts - CA PC 220 (B) - Assault with intent to commit mayhem, rape or other sex offenses
2 counts - CA PC 288 a (2)(A) – Sexual Assault
2 counts - CA PC 209 (B)(1) – Kidnapping for the purpose to commit robbery, rape or other sex offenses
