Man Arrested for Robbing Gas Station at Knifepoint
Suffolk County Police have arrested a man who robbed a Medford, New York gas station.
On Friday, February 23, 2018, a man, armed with a knife, entered BP gas station, located at 286 Expressway Drive South, and demanded money at approximately 7:55 p.m. The clerk complied and the man fled the scene in a Hyundai Tucson.
Sixth Squad detectives, acting on an anonymous tip received by Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS, located the suspect, Kevin Hauff, at his home in Coram, New York, on Saturday, February 24 at 10:19 p.m. Detectives charged Hauff, 30, with Robbery 1st Degree. He will be held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, New York, on February 25.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
