Suffolk County Police have arrested a man who robbed a Medford, New York gas station.

On Friday, February 23, 2018, a man, armed with a knife, entered BP gas station, located at 286 Expressway Drive South, and demanded money at approximately 7:55 p.m. The clerk complied and the man fled the scene in a Hyundai Tucson.

Sixth Squad detectives, acting on an anonymous tip received by Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS, located the suspect, Kevin Hauff, at his home in Coram, New York, on Saturday, February 24 at 10:19 p.m. Detectives charged Hauff, 30, with Robbery 1^st Degree. He will be held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, New York, on February 25.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
