UPDATE

Dearborn, MI – On Saturday, February 24, 2018, at approximately 8:30 am in Adrian, MI., Dearborn Police Officers with the assistance of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police-Emergency Support Team arrested a 38 year-old Westland resident who has been identified as a suspect in this case.  

Based upon preliminary interviews it appears that the parties involved are acquaintances.  This is still an active investigation.  We will submit our investigation to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what charges, if any; will be brought against the suspect involved in this incident.

Dearborn, MI.— On February 23, 2018, at approximately 8:00 pm Dearborn Police Officers responded to the area of Whittington and Canterbury on report of a man down.  Upon their arrival they discovered a 37-year-old Dearborn resident in the street who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.  Rescue personnel immediately responded and provided care.  The victim died as a result of the injuries. 
This investigation is ongoing. 
Chief of Police Ronald Haddad stated, "Crimes of this magnitude are extremely rare in the City of Dearborn and the loss of life in this incident is profoundly tragic. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and we are committed to utilizing every resource at our disposal to bring the person(s) responsible to justice."
