UPDATE: SUSPECT NOW IN CUSTODY 

Dearborn, MI.— On February 23, 2018, at approximately 8:00 pm Dearborn Police Officers responded to the area of Whittington and Canterbury on report of a man down.  Upon their arrival they discovered a 37-year-old Dearborn resident in the street who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.  Rescue personnel immediately responded and provided care.  The victim died as a result of the injuries. 
This investigation is ongoing. 
Chief of Police Ronald Haddad stated, "Crimes of this magnitude are extremely rare in the City of Dearborn and the loss of life in this incident is profoundly tragic. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and we are committed to utilizing every resource at our disposal to bring the person(s) responsible to justice."
