Earlier today members of the Fairfield Police Investigations Bureau served multiple search warrants at locations in the City of Fairfield. These search warrants were served with the Fairfield Police SWAT team due to the severity of the crime. Also assisting in the mutliple search warrants was the FBI Safe Street Task Force. Combating violent crime is a goal of the Safe Street Task Force.
During the service of the search warrants a 17 year old local male was arrested in connection with the homicide that had occurred on Christmas Day in December, 2017. This subject was taken to the Investigations Bureau and then later booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of murder involving the use of a firearm.
The investigation continues through the weekend and into next week as additional leeds are followed up on.
