On Thursday, February 22, 2018, at approximately 5 p.m., Santa Valley Sheriff's Station deputies responded to a restaurant parking lot located on the 27700 block of Lake Hughes Road, Castaic.  An observant citizen had contacted the station regarding suspicious activity witnessed in the parking lot of a restaurant - a male adult was seen placing a rifle in the backseat of his vehicle. Arriving deputies detained two adults that were seated in the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, deputies found numerous air soft rifles and handguns.  At least seven of the assault-style rifles had been altered, and appeared real, with safety tips removed.  Deputies also located narcotics, and several pieces of stolen mail in the vehicle.
 
Deputies arrested two adults, a male and female both in their early 20's, on charges of altering imitation firearms, mail theft, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. The case is being actively investigated by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station detectives.

• Who or what you saw;
• When you saw it;
• What you heard;
• Where it occurred; and
• Why it’s suspicious.
