In March 2017, the Gilroy Police Department received a report of a possible sexual assault involving Gianni Filice, 18-years-old, of Gilroy.
Gilroy Police Detectives investigated the allegation and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Filice. As the investigation continued, two additional victims came forward and disclosed they had also been sexually assaulted by Mr. Filice.
In each case, Mr. Filice had established a relationship with the victim prior to the assault. He is currently in custody at the Santa Clara County Jail.
At this time, it is believed there are possibly additional victims that have not come forward or been identified. The Gilroy Police Department would encourage anyone who was a victim of Mr. Filices’ actions to come forward and make a report.
